Galatians
1:21 (NKJV)
21 Afterward I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
Thought for today – Sometimes it’s good to just go back home.
Why is this verse included in the Bible? What is
important here? First, the two places Paul names are Syria, where
Damascus is located, and Cilicia, whose main city is Tarsus. Following
his encounter with Christ the Lord on the road, Paul had found a home among the
believers in Damascus, and Tarsus was his birthplace. No doubt he had
friends and family in these places, and he was welcomed there. Sometimes
we need to go back home to find support and comfort in the places we know among
the people we love.
That’s what the Book says!
