12/11/2023: Galatians 1:4-5 – Jesus came to deliver us from this evil world system.

 

Galatians 1:4-5 (NASB)

⁴ who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, ⁵ to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Thought for today – Jesus came to deliver us from this evil world system.

Jesus came on a rescue mission to deliver us from this world system that has become evil, but in order to do that He had to give His life as a propitiation for our sin.  The phrase that is translated “present evil age” reads literally, “the age having been placed in evil.”  The world system became evil with Adam’s sin, was evil as Paul wrote this, is evil today, and will remain evil till the Lord returns to judge it.  To redeem us from this evil world system was God the Father’s plan from before the creation of the world, and by this He will receive glory forever and ever.  Amen.
