12/10/2023: Galatians 1:4a – Jesus Christ gave Himself. That is the meaning of Christmas.

Galatians 1:4a (NASB)

… our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins…

Thought for today – Jesus Christ gave Himself.  That is the meaning of Christmas.

In the midst of the non-Christian glitz and commercialism that has become the Christmas that surrounds us, may the Lord draw us again to the central fact that we are sinners facing God’s eternal judgment, and our only hope is in the gift of His Son to become our sacrifice.  May we never escape or forget the core meaning of Christmas that Jesus Immanuel came as a babe in a manger so that He could offer His life as a sacrifice to pay for our sin.

That’s what the Book says!
